Everything You Need to Know About NFTs on ThunderCore So Far

Being a secure, high-performance, EVM compatible public blockchain, ThunderCore powers a multitude of DApps in varying categories. From DeFi to gaming and gambling, NFT applications also have a strong presence within the ThunderCore ecosystem. With the mission to bring wide adoption to blockchain technology, ThunderCore has been collaborating with industry leaders to create an environment where NFTs can thrive and be used to unlock unlimited potential for artists, creatives, and collectors alike.
2021 was the year of NFTs. One of the key factors that exacerbated this trend was when Beeple’s art piece sold for a record-breaking $69M as an NFT. Soon after, Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, sold his first tweet for $2.9M as an NFT as well.
According to Nonfungible.com, weekly NFTs sales have exceeded $12M in total across some of the biggest players in the industry, ranging from collectibles to secondary marketplaces. CryptoPunks and NBA TopShot are among some of the most popular NFT collectibles, while Raribles, Nifty Gateway, and OpenSea are some of the biggest NFT marketplaces in the current landscape.
These marketplaces allow users to buy, sell, and create their own NFTs, further consolidating NFTs’ relevance in contemporary culture. Now, even celebrities and entrepreneurs are venturing into the NFT space to accommodate the market’s demand. Eminem’s Shady Con, Gary Vaynerchuck’s Vee Friends, and Mark Cuban’s Lazy.com are great examples to name a few.

CaptureClub: A unique, creator-only NFT marketplace
With so much demand and supply for NFT marketplaces, it is difficult to pinpoint which platform gives artists and creators more freedom and protection for their ideas. Permanence is also a major factor, considering the fact that artists want their work to be taken care of, be remembered for years to come, and its transaction history as to who owned them in the past to who is currently owning them now.
Artists who are just starting out are also looking for a more cost-efficient way for their art to live digitally, unlike the high gas fees many creators are asked to pay prior to getting their work listed on a marketplace that’s deployed on Ethereum.
For this reason, ThunderCore has partnered with Numbers to build a unique NFT marketplace, CaptureClub, on the ThunderCore blockchain.
What makes CaptureClub different from all the other marketplaces is its integrity framework, as all CaptureClub assets have their authenticity assured with several metrics (metadata, blockchain immutability, NFT ownership). Each NFT on CaptureClub is called a Capture, however, not all NFTs are Captures, because Captures are enhanced forms of NFTs that utilize data provenance to make them traceable in ways NFTs aren’t.
“Buying Captures is extremely different from purchasing NFTs. When you purchase a NFT, you are actually just buying the token or asset record. The asset is separate oftentimes not connected with the transaction.
Let’s consider the following analogy. Diamonds are physical items that have associated certificates that characterize the value and grade of the diamonds. As it stands when you buy an NFT, you are essentially buying the certificate and MAYBE getting the diamond later. This diamond can also be not the original or the channels to access it may be removed. The proper interaction would be buying the diamond and getting the certificate with it to confirm its authenticity. This is the type of interaction CaptureClub has.” — CaptureClub Team

Users can now buy and sell Captures on CaptureClub by simply logging onto its website and by downloading its app. Users can also apply for CaptureClub’s Creator Gallery and join its growing community of outstanding creatives to make, share, and spread their art.
ThunderCore’s first NFT project in collaboration with DJ Kaku
ThunderCore also partnered with DJ Kaku, lead dance music DJ/producer based in Taiwan, to release the first-ever NFT project on the ThunderCore blockchain. Kaku is also the first Asia-based DJ/producer to release an NFT collection. Three pieces were included in the release: (Past), (Present), (Future), and partial sales proceeds were donated to The Global Fund to fight against AIDS and COVID-19.
The three pieces were on sale for 24 hours on April 23, 2021, with the last piece, (Future), sold as a 1/1 auction piece for 1,428,388 Thunder Tokens (TT), worth approximately $24,750, on April 24th.

Taiwan Star Van Ness Wu releases NFT on the ThunderCore blockchain
Taiwanese-American Artist Van Ness Wu issued his first NFT drop on CaptureClub on June 11, 2021. Wu’s NFT piece, a mosaic made entirely of his fan photos, is his first take on the NFT/Crypto space. For this exciting project, fans sent in selfies to become a part of the collage that forms one of Van Ness’ most iconic moments.
In a time when most NFTs are for-profit, Wu has donated all of his NFTs’ sales proceeds to the Family of Joy Foundation, an organization in Taiwan focused on improving the lives of children with special needs.

OurSong is an NFT wonderland that lets users create, share, and trade creative moments with fans, friends, and like-minded people. OurSong is the newest offering from Taiwan-based media technology company KKBOX Group, which is responsible for the world’s first legal on-demand music streaming platform, KKBOX.
Users can turn their creativity and imagination into tradable NFTs in the form of digital trading cards called Vibes. Vibes are virtual access keys to unlock exclusive content, updates, and experiences.

What’s next?
ThunderCore will keep collaborating with talented creators and companies with mission statements akin to ours: to bring wide adoption to blockchain technology and its benefits to the masses. TT Wallet will also be able to display NFTs along with a deposit and withdrawal feature in the near future, so users can show off, store, and exchange their collections with each other.
As the NFT space progresses and more users are interested in owning one, intrinsic value and standardization for NFTs will increase. This standardization will ultimately usher in more creative applications for NFTs, such as using NFTs as collateral for lending and borrowing programs, trading NFTs on decentralized exchanges, and even yield farming features that let users earn NFTs by staking cryptos.
ThunderCore has a well-developed DeFi ecosystem, but with the growing demand for NFTs, the possibilities for new applications to combine both DeFi and NFTs are endless. By leveraging the uniqueness of NFTs and the functions they currently enact (such as representing non-traditional assets in the form of art, music, collectibles, etc.), novel financial services can be created as the sky’s the limit.
Once successfully deployed on the ThunderCore blockchain, new NFT applications will be listed on TT Wallet and benefit from increased exposure to active crypto users. At present, TT Wallet has over 60K daily active users.
Why deploy on ThunderCore?
ThunderCore is a secure, high-performance, EVM-compatible public blockchain. With a breakthrough consensus protocol that overcomes the scalability “trilemma” called PaLa, the ThunderCore network offers 4,000+ TPS, sub-second confirmation times, and low gas fees that cost less than a fraction of a dollar, giving decentralized applications security and scalability.
A lot of NFT marketplaces are deployed on Ethereum, where high gas fees and slow confirmation speed offset the playing field by making the point of entry harder for creators who are just starting out. ThunderCore offers a level playing field for creatives from every corner of the world by removing that barrier with affordability and scalability.
Our partner CaptureClub has also launched a NFT software development kit (SDK) to make it easier for developers to issue NFTs and/or to build a store.
Currently, with an international user base that spans across more than 18 countries, ThunderCore has amassed approximately 4 million total addresses and 180 million transactions on its network. ThunderCore’s growing community and developer-friendly infrastructure make it a truly one-of-a-kind platform where NFTs, their creators, and developers can thrive.
